After a long career in the retail grocery industry that included a variety of supervisory positions, Nancy DeMauri feels like she may have finally found her true calling at a “paint and sip” class. It was there she discovered and began developing her talent for doing silhouette art under the moniker “Nancy’s Fancy.” In November 2020, DeMauri opened Corry Connections, a unique boutique at 124 North Center Street, that showcases not only her own art, but also the work of 19 other crafters and artisans that is displayed on consignment. Offerings range from paintings and steam punk items to a variety of tasteful novelty gifts. Romolo’s Chocolates are also on sale, as are products from Color Street Nails, and she hosts various classes and workshops as well. DeMauri shares a storefront with Morelli’s Jewelry and Repair, and describes owner Guy Morelli as an ideal business partner. She also delights in sharing in the success of her artisan vendors by providing a great venue to showcase their wide variety of work. DeMauri compares the passion of her vendors to the feeling she felt back in that first “paint and sip” class, and hopes their spirits soar as hers did when she first discovered her love of painting.
