To say that Twisted Sisters’ Café is a family affair is something of an understatement. It’s really the culmination of Lisa Cox’s life-long dream that she would one day open a business that would also include her daughters Kierri, Dana, Halle and Katlin. Opened in October 2022 in the former location of The Juice Shop at 8 South Center Street, Twisted Sisters’ Café is now that place. Beyond keeping the family together, their goal is to provide healthier eating choices with a home-cooked feel. Currently open from 10-2 Monday through Friday, offerings include salads, sandwiches, soups, smoothies, juices and specialty coffees. And the café is literally split down the middle so that customers can choose to enjoy these delights in a traditional dining area on one side or in a sprawling lounge area on the other. Although the bustling café is quite busy, all those involved except for Katlin amazingly also hold full-time jobs elsewhere. For Katlin, however, working at Twisted Sisters’ Café is especially meaningful. She was disabled following a car accident in 2002, but is fully involved in the operation of the café, adding to the strong family vibe that exists between “the twisted sisters,” and their quest to provide “fresh food you can feel good about.”
